• Square dimension: 960 x 960 px.

• Text: up to 90 characters.

• Post description: up to 200 characters for desktop and 30 characters for mobile.

• For paid media campaigns, the text must not exceed 20% of the image area.

Facebook Stories

Stories are of highly engaged and visualized formats.

• Aspect ratio: 9:16.

• Maximum dimension: 1080 x 1920 px.

• Minimum dimension: 600 x 1067 px.

• File types: .mp4 or .mov (video) or .jpg or .png (photo).

• Recommended video codec: h.264, VP8.

• Recommended audio codec: AAC, Vorbis.

Link image (Og: image – Open Graph)

Sharing links with images featured on Facebook allows the network to “pull” information related to what you want to post or share. It is interesting to note that the use of links with images considerably increases the reach of the post.

Carousel posts are a paid media resource on Facebook. With the carousel format, it is possible to display two or more images and / or videos, titles and links or calls to action in a single ad.

CANVAS – MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE

In Canvas format, on the other hand, the ad appears interactively. Videos, still images, texts and call to action buttons can be used. The idea is to provide an immersive experience. The user can slide through an image carousel, view panoramic images or zoom in to explore details.

• Ideal size: 1200 x 628 (up to 8 screens of 1080 x 1920 px).

• Title: 45 characters.

• Text: 90 characters.

• Up to 20% of text in the graphic design piece.

PHOTO ALBUM

The network allows up to 1,000 photos per album. The use of albums is interesting for brands that participate in many events and that is part of their strategy to share them, as is the case of concert halls, event companies, etc.

• Text: up to 255 characters (less recommended).

Specific pieces of media campaigns

Below, see the definition of the main formats.

Image banners: It is the most used technique, usually in .jpg or .gif, which allows the creation of animations.

Interactive banners: created from Flash and Java, the piece is multimedia, with animation, sound and / or video, which allows interaction with the user.

Super Banner: called a “header”, it performs very well at the top of a page, above the content.

Super Vertical Banner: also known as “wide skyscraper”, it performs well on the sides of the pages.

Full Banner: indicated for headers in cases where the available space does not accommodate the Super Banner.

Half Banner: “half banner” is ideal for smaller spaces, but due to its size it may not perform very well.

Final guidelines

Resolutions for the digital environment are always 72 DPI. Now, with the emergence of 4K monitors, 144 DPI. However, there is no need to worry about this resolution as most monitors are 72 DPI.

Regarding images, RGB .jpg is the format that loads faster, but if you want more quality, bet on .png.

On banners, the most used formats are: 300 x 250, 320 x 50 and 160 x 600 px and it is recommended that they have up to 110 KB.
